BIO: Jim Roof (ASMP, AIAP, IAAP) has been photographing architecture and interiors for over 24 years. Based in the Atlanta, Georgia area, Jim has served hundreds of the nation’s leading architects, interior designers, real estate developers, ad agencies and general contractors.
Jim has photographed nearly 2000 projects including churches, office buildings, skyscrapers, corporate interiors, shopping malls, hospitals, multi-family residences, schools, etc., many with dramatic results that have resulted in regional and national recognition for his clients.
He has an understanding of architecture that stems from his artistic and musical background. He sees the motifs, recurring rhythmic forms and the broad reaching scope that is exhibited in thoughtful structural design. Jim started his career shooting large format film and has recently made a highly successful transition to digital photography. His images still have the look and feel of film but with the convenience and unique problem solving capabilities of modern digital technology.
