Exclamation DENIED ACCESS DECEMBER 1ST 2008.

Dear members and forum users...

We are having a very hard time keeping up with spammers joining the site. The spammers use free email address's, yahoo, gmail, msn, hotmail as well as others.

Effective December 1st, 2008, we will be blocking all of these free services from accessing or registering to the site, and we will add to our list as we identify more services as being spammer friendly.

How will this affect you?

If you have a free email with any of the above, or others that may end up on our list, you will not be able to access the site after December 1st. To update your email address please visit the forum User Control Panel (UserCP) and update your address.

We will only be blocking the "Free Services".

Email address's that end in your domain name, or AOL, or earthlink, comcast etc... will not be blocked. However if you have an email address that you use on the IAAP site that is with one of the free services you will be locked out on December 1st, 2008. So please update your email address now.

Offer:
If you would like to have a complimentary IAAP email address ending in iaap.us or iaap.co.uk please let me know as soon as possible, or before December 1st, 2008.

The complimentary IAAP email address is available only to IAAP Associate Members & Paid Forum Members:

paid forum members are those forum users that have a forum access only account, click for details

Another option is you can enter your User CP in the forum and add another email address as your primary email address, so long as it is not with one of the free services that is widely used by spammers.

Want an IAAP email address?

1) I will need your preference in name example: thomasbliss@iaap.us or thomasbliss@iaap.co.uk

2) Choose a password: and I will set up your email address for the site.

3) Would you like your email address to forward to another address? If so let me know.

4) The complimentary IAAP email address will be limited in storage space to 10 mb, and you can use your email address as you would any other email address.

5) You will be able to access your IAAP address via a webmail client, or add it to your mail client (MacMail, Entourage, Outlook, etc..)

To set up your IAAP email send us (Via Email) your preferences ASAP to admin@iaap.us or admin@iaap.co.uk

We will set these accounts up as they come in, allow two days (max) for processing.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thomas

The complimentary IAAP email address is available only to IAAP Associate Members & Paid Forum Members:

Once your IAAP email address is set up you will be able to access the webmail feature by typing into your browser "email.iaap.us" or "email.iaap.co.uk" . "No" www, enter exactally as I have typed it. Then you will have a screen to enter your email address and password.

Good for you Thomas! - 90% of all the junk mail I get is from gmail accounts. I am about ready to block all messages from gmail just to stop the junk.

Andrew Doran will become famous soon enough
Default Re: DENIED ACCESS DECEMBER 1ST 2008.

Most Scam emails I get come from Yahoo accounts. Good move to block the spam!

Besides, there is no reason that a professional photographer shouldn't have their own domain name, at least for email. A domain from godaddy costs less than $10 a year, and comes with email, and webmail, and/or email forwarding to any account you wish.

Personally I don't take people very seriously in business if they only have a hotmail.com email. A successful business should have an identity, not a just free email, because it's easy.

Exclamation Re: DENIED ACCESS DECEMBER 1ST 2008.

Dear IAAP Member, and Forum User.

As you know we have decided not to allow new users to sign up to the forums who use free email services as was outlined in the post:

However, I think we have found a way to allow you to keep your current free email and still access the site... hopefully!

I won't know if our patch has worked until someone with a yahoo, or gmail or other free email address try's to access the forum.

If there is a bug please let me know and I will try to fix it as soon as possible.

To our American friends: Happy Thanksgiving!

Best Regards,
Thomas Bliss, IAAP
