Avoid Creative Environments of Hollywood, Inc.
Took me 8 months and a small claims suit before they would settle with me. After I shot an event in Dec. 07 I heard nothing until they emailed asking for a CD of the images in May. When I replied no CD until payment, promises were made about getting me paid. Then they started saying they didn't want photos of the event (which I had done per my instructions from the PR firm) that filled their project with art exhibits and people, they wanted shots of the architecture (during the party?!).
When I offered to supply some of the images cropped and lightly retouched to focus on architecture they said they'd have to see them first. I said no way, payment not contingent on whether you like the "new images". They said "then sue us". I did, in small claims court. They called to settle a week before court, telling it was in my interest to do so because even if I won it would "be months before you saw any $". (In fact, the PR firm sued before I did and CEH used every stalling trick in the book after they lost to delay payment.) In the end I settled for $50 less than the original $700 invoice.
These people use the courts as a business tactic, so beware.
