How Many Page Hits do you get on your site in one day?

Re: How Many Page Hits?
Just to clarify, do you mean visits or hits? Just double checking because the numbers are very different and my hits are higher than 1000/day.
Thanks,

Re: How Many Page Hits?
Scary signs:
58.2 unique visits per day over last 6 months.
108.7 unique visits per day same time last year.
Search engine placement varies very little over this same time.
OUCH!

Re: How Many Page Hits?
I had a big drop in hits during early 2008. The biggest problem I think was restructuring my site because soon after everything tanked. Ever since then I make gradual updates and try to get listed and linked from quality sites and directories.

Re: How Many Page Hits?
Paul-
I wouldn't totally blame your website update. My visits took a tank (down 40%) from March to April. It's been down every since.
The only bright spot is that hits aren't down as much. I'm guessing this means less visitors, but they're spending more time on the site.

Re: How Many Page Hits?
Vic,
I would blame most of it. It wasn't a website update, it was restructured meaning all links were renamed within the site. The stats showed the drop exactly to the day of the changes. Once I resubmitted my website and reworked a new xml site map everything went back to normal within a couple months.
Currently my hits and visits are higher than ever.

Re: How Many Page Hits?
How many months did you say it took to get back to normal? I've done the same restructuring of my site, but google is somehow seeing pages that I deleted a year ago and doing the "404 not found" deal.

Re: How Many Page Hits?
It took a couple months but I had to be very active at resubmitting my site to the search engines. One big thing to do is sign up with Google's Webmaster Tools and submit an xml sitemap. This tells Google exactly how your site is structured and it helps keep your site updated.
Your getting the "404 not found" because the non-existent page is still cached under the old extension and can't find it. After a while it will disappear and your new pages will appear but resubmitting will help speed things up.

Re: How Many Page Hits?
I may have voted incorrectly as it said page hits and I see below Thomas now indicates visits per day.
Visits average 99/day
Page hits avg. 253/day - this is what I entered in the poll

I'm trending down..... Way, way down! Double digits on some days, single on others.

Re: How Many Page Hits?
Ditto. If it weren't for my India site, there would be many days with low single digits. Too many cheap shooters doing garbage work. Where is this industry headed?

Without strong leadership..... I'm afraid down, and down. We ( as in the IAAP) need to be a strong voice. This forum does just that. Voice your opinion here, shooters young and old read it. We get a million hits a year.
Keep posting.
