Dear photographer,
Let me crave your indulgence to introduce myself to you..My name is Tony Behr. I am

I am contacting you to open an offer to you. ONe of my clients need to update his catalogue for the year and my service is highly needed for the job..My client want to put in some new model photos and some graphics work on this catalogue, therefore he needs me to direct the whole things for him.
However, I need an experience photographer who will handle the photograph session for this job. I need someone who is capable to do the snapshot for the job because i am working on a tight schedule at the moment and it would be a little weary for me to handle the whole things alone. Although I am currently out of the states for a two-weeks course program in the United Kingdom but i need to start makaing necessary arrangement from here so that everything would be set before my arrival to the states.
The below are the terms and conditions for the photo session...
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Interested photographer must have at least a year working experience.
Photographer need not to travel because the job will be done in his/her resided city or state.
The total time plan for the session is approximately 5 hours.
The specific time, date and locations is undecided.
The shot will take place in two different locations(photographer may decides befitting locations in his/her resided city for the job.
Five diffeerent shots will be needed on each location (Total:10 copies) and all shot are needed with a color background.
These shots are needed for print catatlgues.
The budgeted rate for this job(photograph session) is $750.00. Half payment before the job and the rest payment upon completion of the job. Therefore photographer will be paid $325.00 before the commencement of the job and325.00 after the job has been completed.
Photographer should note that he/she will have no additional expenses except those which are his/her responsibilty.
Therefore if you don't have any problem with the above terms and conditions, definitely you are fit to help me handle the photograph session of this job. Kindly get back to me as soon as possible for further details..Thanks and stay blessed!!!
Tony

Im not sure what the scam is... but it is a scam. Dr.'s can usually spell and have good use of grammar and can type. I would start a dialogue with him to see where it goes. And just what he will ask for next. Bank Accounts, and such. He may even want to send you a check, and that is where it begins.
Be Careful!

Ohh.. This is a good one!
I am Mr. Robert Horton, I represent a top company executive in Russia. I have a very sensitive and private brief from this top executive to ask for your partnership to
re-profile funds over twelve million .
I will give the details subsequently, but in summary, the fund is from a holding bank in Russia where we have a considerable stake. We need to present You/your Company
as a management consultant to undertake and complete this re-profiling job. This will be done legitimately. Details of your remuneration for your role will be discussed
in subsequent correspondence if I am able to reach terms with you. If you wish to be recontacted email me at robert_inc1@yahoo.pl . Please keep this close to your
chest as much as possible; we cannot afford any political problems with Moscow. Whatever your decision, I look
forward to it.
Regards,
Robert Horton
AND PEOPLE FALL FOR THIS CRAP!

Re: Current Photographer Scams
This was in my email this morning. Thomas, you have worked in the UK if I remember. Does this sound even remotely like the necessary paperwork for working in the UK?
Hello Vic,
A UK WORK PERMIT is a document that grants you permission to have a paid Job in the UK which without it, you cannot be gainfully employed in the UK while a UK PHOTOGRAPHY LICENSE qualifies to work as a Photographer in the UK.
Below is the process of obtaining the Permit and License:
Procuring a Regular UK work Permit and a UK Photography License are quite easy but takes a whole lot of time say 3-4 weeks for the Permit and 2-3 weeks for the License and such time we do not have.
But it could both be gotten in 3-4 working days. All that you need to do is to employ the Services of a UK based Attorney who will apply for an Expedited Permit and License on your behalf with a letter of Recommendation form the company offering the Job and the Application will be done in the British Home office here in the UK and the office of the PPA (PROFFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS ASSOCIATION.) the body in charge of all acts of photography in the UK.
But this is done for a fee that the company will foot 50% of the fee while you will foot the balance 50% as a sign of commitment on your part to honor the Job because we have had cases in the past when Client pay for all that is required and employees end up not showing up after giving some flimsy excuses so as a measure to curb such excesses it was agreed that employees pay something so that they will be obliged not to breach the contract.
And note that once you have procured the above documents, they become your SOLE PROPERTY which means in a case where you are to pick up any Modeling Job in the UK in future you will not have to go through this process again which is also part of the reason you are paying part of the charges.
So if you are down with this you can do well to contact any UK based Attorney of your choice but if that will be much trouble, we will recommend an Attorney for you.
I have attached a review copy of the contract paper for you to view and have a clearer picture.
Regards,
Hilary Mbeki.
+44 704 576 5852.
NOTE: AS SOON AS YOU GET THE DOCUMENTS, AN UPFRONT PAYMENT OF 50% WILL BE SENT TO YOU ALONGSIDE FUNDS WITH WHICH YOU WILL BOOK YOUR ROUND TRIP TICKET AT ANY AIRLINE OF YOUR CHOICE.
I'm thinking the scam is for me to pay the attorney fees. I told them I could obtain all necessary paperwork locally. I'll see if they respond.
